MEDIA CHECK · WORKING V1

Is this song AI?

LessBother’s goal is simple: tell you what you are actually consuming. Not an accusation machine—a layered evidence check for hidden synthetic media.

FIRST TARGET: MUSIC

Paste a song link. Get the evidence, not a magic answer.

The full checker will combine provenance, public disclosures, release behavior, credits and audio-analysis signals. This first working version checks the public page and explicit disclosures now. If the evidence cannot support a conclusion, the answer will be Unknown.

v1 checks public page metadata and explicit disclosures. It does not download your audio or pretend it can hear a watermark.

Provenance & watermarks

Look for generator-specific provenance or durable watermark evidence when a platform or generator provides it. A positive provenance match is stronger than a generic detector guess.

Audio signals

Analyze vocals, transitions, spectral patterns, timing and repeated structures as supporting evidence—not as standalone proof that a musician is fake.

Release behavior

Unusual upload volume, rapid genre-hopping, disposable artist identities and other account patterns can raise a flag for investigation without deciding the case by themselves.

Credits & metadata

Check performer, songwriter and production credits, distribution metadata and disclosed use of generative tools. Missing credits are a clue, not a conviction.

Cross-web evidence

Look for artist sites, interviews, social profiles, labels, earlier releases and explicit disclosures that can confirm or contradict the automated signals.

?

Confidence, not accusation

Possible outcomes: Likely human, AI-assisted, Strong AI signals, Confirmed AI provenance, or Unknown.

THE IMPORTANT PART

LessBother is not anti-AI.

AI helped build LessBother. The problem is when synthetic content, sponsorship, bots or manipulation are hidden from the person consuming it. Media Check is about disclosure and evidence—not punishing musicians for using technology.

BIGGER THAN MUSIC

Eventually: “Is this real?”

The same framework can expand to reviews, product photos, videos, social posts, manufactured consensus and other places where the useful question is not “Do I hate AI?” but “Am I being told what this actually is?”
